Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today participated in the 5th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management (AMMDM) Plus Japan in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Co-chaired by H.E. Kitte Sangahak Bandith Kun Kim, Senior Minister in Charge of Special Missions, First Vice President of the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM) of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Chair of ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management (AMMDM) 2025, and H.E. Kambara Norifumi, Deputy Minister for Disaster Management, Cabinet Office of Japan, the Meeting discussed ways and means to enhance ASEAN-Japan cooperation in disaster management, including deliberating on the implementation progress of the ASEAN–Japan Work Plan on Disaster Management 2021–2025, and preparations for the development of the ASEAN–Japan Work Plan on Disaster Management 2026–2030, in line with the AADMER Work Programme 2026-2030.
